Stellenbosch is the second oldest town in South Africa after Cape Town. The town is also affectionately known as Eikestad, the town of Oaks, because of the many old oak trees lining the beautiful streets of our town.

Moederkerk - Amongst Stellenbosch's most popular attractions, the beautiful Moederkerk is a must for any visitor to town.
Dorp Street - Dorp Street is an oak tree lined street with many historical buildings in the Cape Dutch style of architecture. A stroll up and down Dorp Street will reveal many quaint and picturesque spots for visitors.
Rupert Museum - A museum to showcase the private art collection of Anton and Huberte Rupert. Located on Stellentia Avenue and bordering the Eerste River.

Golf - There are a few quality golf courses within easy driving distance from Stellenbosch. Pearl Valley, De Zalze, Strand, Devonvale and Stellenbosch Golf Club are all within 40 kilometres of Hazelwood House.
Hiking - The Jonkershoek Nature reserve, part of the South African National Parks network is a favourite for hikers. Wildlife, waterfalls and fynbos are some of the highlights of the Reserve. Find more information on the reserve at South African National Parks
Mountain Biking - There are many trails through the mountains and vineyards offering mountain biking enthusiasts plenty of terrain to ride over their stay in the area.

Cheetah Outreach - Spier Wine Estate is home to the Cheetah Outreach Project raising awareness of this beautiful animal. Personal encounters with the animals are available.
